The fall 2014 semester is an exciting time for Transportation Services and the Bobcat Shuttle. Based on

student feedback, we have made many enhancements and modifications to better serve the university

population. Here are some of the highlights:

New Buses

· 43 brand new, specially built 40’ El Dorado National XHF buses

New Real Time Tracking

· Texas State University has partnered with DoubleMap to provide real time Bobcat Shuttle


· Each bus is equipped with GPS to provide real­time location and arrival predictions

· Each bus is equipped with passenger counters so students can tell how full the next arriving bus

will be (to go live in late September)

· Accessible from your smartphone, tablet, or laptop

· Full integration with the upgraded Texas State University Smartphone App

· Electronic boards at the LBJ Student Center stop, the Quad stop, and the UAC/Woods Street stop

(to go live in late September)

Listen Customer Service program

· A new on­line system to provide customer feedback about the shuttle service (to go live after

August 25)

Additional Service

· Daytime service and frequency extended from 5:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.

· Additional morning service and frequency for the highly utilized routes

· Bus service for the newly implemented Pathways Program

Schedule Uniformity

· Service now generally begins 1 hour before classes start and ends approximately 1 hour after

classes end. There are a small number of specialty classes outside these parameters.

· All Evening (“Combo”) routes begin at 6:30 p.m.

· All Night routes begin at 8:50 p.m.

A True Campus Loop

· On Campus service only

· Service begins at 9:00 a.m.

· New service to the Student Recreation Center 1/2

4/29/2015 Fall 2014 Shuttle Service – Important Changes

· New service serving the area around San Marcos Hall, Bexar Hall, and Supple Science

· Route adjusted from 25 minutes to 15 minutes to provide a more frequent service and a more

appropriate loop time

Realigned Routes

· Full analysis of student local addresses, housing capacity, and service levels

· 22­Mill Street and 23­Post Road are now based out of the Quad Bus Loop

· 25­Ranch Road and 24­North LBJ are now based out of the LBJ Student Center Bus Loop

· New Algarita stop on 24­North LBJ

· New Matthews stop on the 12­Bobcat Village

· New Uptown Square stop on 10­Bobcat Stadium

· The Speck stop will be served by 25­Ranch Road and 24­North LBJ (Nusbaum 2014)
